Darling Clementine for the Holidays

Even though I can’t stand seeing the holiday decorations in stores already, I know I need to start thinking about it all soon. So, here’s a good start: sweet holiday designs by Darling Clementine.

I love Dutch artist Esther Aarts’ playful, cheerful style, and her designs for Hello Lucky (the cards in the two photos above) are always terrific.

You can explore Esther’s website, and, if you like, read this nice interview of her over at The Artfuls.

[Handmade Holidays] Holiday Card Round-Up Part 2

I’m kind of a nut about my Christmas cards. And by “nut” I mean “unable to commit to just one design.” For the past several years, I’ve sent out Hello! Lucky or Snow & Graham (or a combination of both) cards for Christmas.  This year is no exception: I have 4 or 5 designs from Hello! Lucky, 3 designs by Snow & Graham and one design from Egg Press (= about 100 cards).

I know. You don’t have to tell me how absurd it is.

So perhaps it won’t surprise you to see that I couldn’t keep today’s Holiday Card round-up to just a handful of designs either.

Design Thursday: Lovely Package

I love and I hate Twitter. (Ok, you’re right. I love it).  There is so much cool information out there that I now have even easier access to, but as if I didn’t stay up late enough as it is (I am constitutionally incapable of going to bed before 11pm), one Twitter link leads to the next which leads to the next. I am seriously sleep deprived these days.

But through Twitter (via Hello! Lucky – *adore* their letterpress cards), I found out about Lovely Package® which is a gorgeous blog that showcases product design from around the world.

Like, the delicious packaging for Belgian chocolates kshocolât

Mor Cosmetics Lip BalmsOh, the humanity! Cupcakes + beautiful packaging = I think I just spontaneously combusted. These are from Lola’s Kitchen.

If you’re on Twitter, you can follow Lovely Package @LovelyPackage (and Hello! Lucky is @helloluckycards). Hello! Lucky has a blog too.  The Dieline is another  gorgeous package design blog. (@thedieline on Twitter).
